Craggaunowen, Sixmilebridge

#1 of 13 in Museums in County Clare
See a Celtic farmstead at Craggaunowen, a carefully reconstructed lakeside village built next to a castle. An open-air museum with actors, this ring fort and early farmstead recreates life in the Bronze Age, while the castle dates back to around 1550. You'll see lots of traditional farming tools and techniques for making weapons. Check out the Brendan Boat, a representation of a vessel used by Saint Brendan of Clonfert to sail to Greenland in the 6th century.
