Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Schloss Hohenschwangau and St. Peter's Church are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will appreciate Nymphenburg Palace and Munich Residenz. Explore Munich's surroundings by going to Schloss Linderhof (in Ettal) and Herrenchiemsee New Palace (in Herreninsel).
