Durango

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Kids will enjoy Wolf Creek Ski Resort and Earthen Vessel Gallery. And it doesn't end there: hit the slopes at Purgatory Resort, have fun at Durango Community Recreation Center, whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, and tour the pleasant surroundings at The Snowbike Experience.
