A major industrial and cultural center, Sheffield is renowned for its green open spaces, art galleries, and state-of-the-art sports facilities.
Attractions like Warwick Castle and Tropical Butterfly House Wildlife And Falconry Centre make great kid-friendly stops. Get out of town with these interesting Sheffield side-trips: Alton Towers Theme Park (in Alton), Chester Zoo (in Chester) and Warwick (Smith Street & Old Court House). There's still lots to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Holly Hagg Community farm, have some family-friendly fun at Swegway Park, hit the bull's-eye at Ringinglow Archery, and stop by Sweet Gift Boutique.

Manchester to Sheffield is an approximately 1- hour train ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. In April, daytime highs in Sheffield are 15°C, while nighttime lows are 3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Wed) early enough to catch the train to Harrogate.
