Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Get some historical perspective at Glenfinnan Viaduct and Road to the Isles. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like West Highland Museum and Castle Stalker. Step out of Fort William with an excursion to Glenfinnan Church in Glenfinnan--about 30 minutes away. There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Treasures of the Earth, pause for some photo ops at Peace Memorial, pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Andrew's Church, and step into the grandiose world of Old Inverlochy Castle.
