The Bush Capital

A planned city with streets laid out in elaborate, geometric patterns and founded specifically to serve as the capital of the emerging Australian state, Canberra has a self-sufficient atmosphere.
Australian War Memorial and National Gallery of Australia are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Go for a jaunt from Canberra to Paddys River to see Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex about 44 minutes away. Spend the 6th (Mon) exploring nature at Namadgi National Park. There's lots more to do: get curious at Questacon, admire the masterpieces at National Portrait Gallery, take in panoramic vistas at Telstra Tower, and make a trip to Mount Ainslie Lookout.

Use Inspirock's suggestions to plan your Canberra trip and find the best activities and attractions for your vacation.

Hobart to Canberra is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus, ferry, and train. Expect a daytime high around 24°C in April, and nighttime lows around 7°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Sat) early enough to catch the flight back home.
