In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.

Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Honolulu: Kailua (Kailua Beach Park, Hawaii Loves Barbie Dolls Museum, &more), Byodo-In Temple (in Kaneohe) and Wahiawa (Dole Plantation & Wahiawa Botanical Garden). There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Waikiki Beach, contemplate the long history of Iolani Palace, go for a walk through Diamond Head State Monument, and see the interesting displays at Bishop Museum.

In February, Honolulu is warmer than New York City - with highs of 81°F and lows of 69°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) early enough to drive to Kahuku.

Kahuku is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Koolauloa District on the island of Oahu, County of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. Step out of Kahuku with an excursion to Shark Diving in Haleiwa--about 44 minutes away. Drive from Honolulu to Kahuku in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Honolulu in March, with highs in Kahuku at 76°F and lows at 62°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
