Get out of town with these interesting Honolulu side-trips: Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument (in Pupukea) and Haleiwa (Sunset Beach Park, Waimea Bay, &more). There's much more to do: go for a walk through Diamond Head State Monument, see the interesting displays at USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, steep yourself in history at Iolani Palace, and take a tour of Battleship Missouri Memorial.
