The Roman Baths and Avebury Stone Circle will appeal to history buffs. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Wells Cathedral and The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa. Explore Bath's surroundings by going to Tewkesbury (Tewkesbury Abbey & The Severn Ham), Gloucester Cathedral (in Gloucester) and Stonehenge (in Amesbury).
