On the 1st (Tue), explore the ancient world of Clava Cairns and then take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports. Lisbon, Portugal to Inverness is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and train; or take a train. Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Thu): explore the activities along Loch Shiel, steep yourself in history at Glenfinnan Viaduct, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Glenfinnan Church, then take a tour by water with Loch Shiel Cruises, then look for all kinds of wild species at Highland Titles Nature Reserve, and finally admire the verdant scenery at Glen Coe. Keep things going the next day: take in the dramatic scenery at Steall Waterfall, take in the awesome beauty at Ben Nevis, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Nevis Range Mountain Resort, then explore the activities along Loch Linnhe Picnic Area, and finally hike along Lost Valley Trail.
