OMG thank you to the elderly German who spoke through out the talk! Yes I wanted to hear your conversation with your 10 year old grand son - NOT. The tour is short and sweet and our tour guide was lov... more »
Enjoyed the visit to the Jane Austen centre. It was a well-structured and informative presentation. You can try on period costumes, write with a quill and ink and try the biscuits of the period. more »
Great little experience. My daughters aged 6 and 9 really enjoyed it. You could make it last 1 hour or 3 - and still get lots from it. I also really enjoyed it. The waxwork Jane was amazing, and writing with quills was a highlight for all three of us. The staff were really lovely too.
A little pricey but if your either really in to Jane Austen or like me aren't and didn't know much beforehand there's a comprehensive amount of detail that's well presented in a number of ways including informative films and in-character presentation. My daughter had the best time dressing up in the period costumes provided for the purpose. There's also a tea room for a very English tea experience which we did not have time to try but we did quickly check out the menu and did feel the prices were unreasonably high even with the 10% discount that the entry fee entitles you to. But this aside, the staff were friendly and informative and the experience was informative and enjoyable and gave an interesting insight into Regency society in Bath, especially if it's added to other tourist offerings such as the free guided walks, No. 1 Royal Crescent, the Assembly Rooms etc. Love Bath!!
