Birmingham Back to Backs stands as the only surviving court of back-to-back houses in Birmingham. The style was popular in the city in the 19th century before most of the buildings were demolished through the 20th century. Today, take a guided tour through the courtyards and interiors of the preserved brick back-to-backs. Interiors feature furnishings from over a century ago and the sweet shop looks just like it did in the 1930s. Browse the shops for Birmingham-themed and nostalgia products and sit in on a workshop on how to make your own rag rug.     Lovely National Heritage property, the staff were very, very welcoming and informative due to the narrow and steep stairs we sadly were unable to do the tour. The staff showed us around and gave us a mini downstairs tour. Such an interesting place. A must see if in the area. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

    Excellent reminder of the past. Guided tours are very informative taking you back in time describing how people used to live and work etc. Well worth an hour and a half, two hour visit. The NT have done a great job restoring this place and putting on the visits. You can even stay in some of the houses (although these have been done with modern facilities).
