The Cathedral Church of SS. Peter and Paul is the Roman Catholic cathedral of the city of Bristol (not to be confused with the Church of England Bristol Cathedral). Located in the Clifton area of the city, it is the seat and mother church of the Diocese of Clifton and is known as Clifton Cathedral. It has been a Grade II* Listed Building since 2000. From the 1970s, one church building, Clifton Cathedral, is Grade II* (Listed). It was the first Cathedral built under new guidelines arising from the Second Vatican Council.

  • Visited here on Sunday in the sunshine which flowed through the stain glass windows. Very spacious. No wonder it won an award from the Concrete Association as it is all concrete- apparently to build.....  more »

  • Are you religious? If you are and if you are Catholic then this would of course be your church. Built in the early 70s, it is still a modern looking building, with an "underground" car park, a large frontage and of course the big twin spires. I often attended services here because even though I am not Catholic, or indeed religious, I went to the primary school associated with this church and so attended various masses and even my friend's confirmation once.
  • I am biased as I began my priestly ministry here in 1980. I loved it then, and still do. A beautiful interior and a very calming place within a busy city.
