Once the last pub when leaving Bristol on the old road to Wales, The White Bear address has been frequented by local residents, merchants and passers-by for over 250 years. Situated on the peak of St Michael’s Hill, it has always been a popular choice for those wishing to grab a freshly cooked meal washed down with a pint of real ale or cider.Work out when and for how long to visit The White Bear and other Bristol attractions using our handy Bristol day trip planner.

The White Bear also boasts a spacious and partially covered courtyard that is heated during the colder months as well as playing host to a number of BBQs in the Summer time.

Great pub and really good staff and the atmosphere is great. Free pool at certain times which is a bonus Recommend
Good old-fashioned unpretentious roomy pub. No loud music. Good local beers. Popular with students and locals.
