Trip Planner: Europe / UK / Scotland / Scottish Highlands / Caithness and Sutherland / Dornoch / Dornoch Cathedral
Visit Dornoch Cathedral to experience the tranquil spirituality of the Scottish Highlands. Originally built in the 13th century, the cathedral was severely damaged in a fire during a 16th-century clan war. Today's structure was the result of a rebuilding process that started back in the Victorian era. The site's quaint atmosphere is punctuated by interesting details, from gaping gargoyles to stained-glass windows dedicated to the Scottish-American industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. The interior's renowned acoustics make it a frequent concert venue. Check the cathedral's website for a full schedule of services and special events.
