Duart Castle, Isle of Mull

Duart Castle or Caisteal Dhubhairt in Scottish Gaelic is a castle on the Isle of Mull, off the west coast of Scotland, within the council area of Argyll and Bute. The castle dates back to the 13th century and is the seat of Clan MacLean.

  • Wonderful position, worth a walk round the outside. Full of interesting exhibitions. Good cafe. If you are interested in local and clan history, this is a must  more »
  • A great stop in an absolutely beautiful location. They are, and have been for some time, renovating the castle restoring it's glory. The museum is filled with lots of historical pieces. Definitely worth a stop.
  • Pretty good, definitely impressive and interesting. Disappointing to arrive with our dog and be refused access even though no mention in leaflet or on website. Had to make a return trip. I do understand why it's unsuitable for dogs now we have been inside but it needs to be clarified.
