Find out about the longest and arguably one of the most important campaigns of World War II at Merseyside Maritime Museum, occupying warehouse block D at the Albert Dock. The city’s seafaring heritage is brought to life at this museum, which was designed to narrate the history of Liverpool’s ongoing international maritime importance. Discover the city’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, emigration, the development of the merchant marine, and the story of RMS Titanic. The museum’s exhibit marking the centenary of the Titanic's sinking includes numerous personal items recovered from the wreck, such as watches, cups, spectacles, and tiepins. The site also includes award-winning dining rooms, along with a gift shop, cafe, and lecture theater. A place to live the history of the Albert docks, so much shipping and merchant navy information. Lots of information on the world wars and how the dock played such an import part. Definitely visit..... more »

Good range of things to see and read up on. Very good way to spend a few hours. The displays had lots of interesting historical information, from slavery, trade, boating and the local area. more »

Came specifically for the Titanic exhibition which was a fascinating insight from the perspective of Liverpool as a city. The exhibit gave wider context to the city’s social and economic history, which nicely set up the specific impact of the Titanic disaster on the city. On my next visit to Liverpool I would love to explore what else the museum has to offer. Sounds like the other sections are just as interesting.

A fascinating showcase British maritime history. Lots to see and experience here. Love the models, the artifacts and the stories. The information about the Lusitania, Mauritania and other great ships was touching as my great great grandfather worked at the shipyard in Birkenhead during the time the Mauritania was built. The museum is free to enter and has good amenities. A great way to spend a few hours at the Albert Dock
