Chiswick House and Gardens Reviews
What a simply magical place! We enjoyed our visit to Chiswick House greatly, exploring the House was like walking through the corridors of history and couldn’t have been more enjoyable. In the sunshin... more »
Ein toller eher kleiner Park außerhalb der City mit einem Herrenhaus, einem Café und einem See. Wenn einen die vielen Hunde nicht stören, ein idealer Ort um auszuspannen. more »A great rather small park outside the city with a mansion, café and lake. If the many dogs do not bother you, an ideal place to relax.
English heritage run this. House lovely not much furniture. Round room has beautiful decor and excellent acoustics. Grounds lovely cafe and children's playground in the grounds which is part of Chiswick Park. Parking has to be paid and you walk past the local tennis club. A long way for disabled unless in a wheelchair.
The house and park is very nice, though I hoped the house is bigger with more rooms. Sure, that there are some paintings - not that many - and statues, the architecture is nice, too, but for me the house was too small and unfortunately taking photos is prohibited. Which is a huge turn off for me, especially if not too many things would be to see, any way. True that what is in and out, it`s beautiful. The whole garden and park is quite huge, suitable for every age group. However I can recommend it to those who love extreme romantic, geometric lines, ponds, swans, flower beds, etc. Those who loves sugared honey with sweetness. I rather prefer wild romantic, when the nature is just held back and well maintained, but here the garden and park is too artificial, prim, factitious for me. I can`t say it`s not beautiful, because it is, but for me too much affected. Another turn off that the ionic temple is closed from public, and though the greenhouse is huge enough, but just with a little selection of plants. Definitely it is a nice place to see and go, but rather have a walk in the park, walking dogs or spend time with children, but as for value on arts - in and out - for me was a bit poor. Nice place to go though.
