#341 of 419 in Shopping in London
Contemporary Applied Arts is a registered charity set up to champion and promote British craftsmen and women. Our gallery is the premiere exhibition and retail venue for the appreciation, education and purchase of British craft.

Originally founded as the Crafts Centre of Great Britain in 1948 after the consolidation of a number of separate organisations within the crafts community, Contemporary Applied Arts was then renamed in 1987. In 1995 we moved from Covent Garden to our current location in Percy Street in London's West End.

  • I came to visit this shop on Saturday 23 March 2019 and... STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!! The women working there have been really rude to me (an Indian looking woman with long hair and a Chinese looking girl with short hair were on duty on this day, to be precise). While I was looking at the stuff sold here (ridiculously expensive, by the way, if you want to get yourself a nice piece of designer jewellery go to the D-Pod store. It's a way better shop with way better products and way better people working there), I could see the two women looking at me and laughing. I noticed that very well, I don't like to argue. These two need to be very careful, because not everyone is like me. If they laugh at potential customers, they risk in getting someone who will reply back to their mockery. Even in a violent way. Regards. Luana.
  • I especially like the ceramics, they show a great artist. Definitely pop in when in the neighbourhood.
