#170 of 418 in Shopping in London
Prestat was established in 1902 in London by Chocolatier extraordinaire Antoine Dufour, following his family's creation of the chocolate truffle in Chambery, France, in 1895. Antoine saw an opportunity to bring his skills and creativity to London.

Prestat became the chocolates of choice for London society and were famously sought after by stars such as Sarah Bernhardt in the 1910s, Sir John Gielgud and Dame Peggy Ashcroft in the 1950s, Tina Turner and Cher in the 1970s and a host of chocolate-loving stars to this day.

Prestat truffles were the favourite chocolates of Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, who made them the centrepiece of his novel My Uncle Oswald.

  • The chocolate shop where pink stands out. I purchased champagne truffle chocolate. It was delicious in its own way, but I don't think there is a lipi. They gave me a taste of my favorite chocolate. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

  • This dimly lit shop is located in the arcade district, a short walk from Piccadilly Circus. It seems to be a royal errand, but i visited it with moderate expectations because the coat of arms is attached even if it is not quite helpless. The thin chocolate with earl grey tea leaves was wonderful in the purchase, and it was popular in surroundings. In addition, the eco tote bag of this place is strong and the design is excellent.

  • Chocolate was marvelous. I love how they wrapped every chocolates with beautiful packages. But problem is about Japanese staff. She was not polite to customers especially from Asian countries. I really wanna go back there if she’s not there. I’m so sorry to rate this, but this is my honest review😞
  • Haven't visited the shop myself but was very fortunate to receive a this lovely gift, I'm very impressed with some of the other reviews regarding dinner party's and so on but all I have to say is yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum Burp 🤭
