The over 100 aircraft at Royal Air Force Museum London help tell the story of the history of flight with an emphasis on the RAF’s role. Located on the former Hendon RAF airfield, the museum includes World Heritage List hangars and the UK's first aircraft factory. Of particular note is the museum’s collection of bombers, which spans their debut in World War I to the present. Other major exhibits cover the first 100 years of flight, the Battle of Britain, and fighter aircraft. Visitors are often surprised by the breadth of the museum, so check out the website in advance to target the exhibits that interest you. If you’re a big aviation fan, plan accordingly. Royal Air Force Museum London Reviews
We come here regularly with our young grandchildren but there’s a huge amount for previous generations, with many models of RAF planes, skilfully exhibited, and information about what their role was. ... more »
Groot, interessant en meer dan de moeite waard on te bezoeken. Vriendelijke en behulpzame hulp. Mooie spullen en kleding in de shop. more »Great, interesting and more than worthwhile to visit. Friendly and helpful help. Nice stuff and clothes in the shop.
Had a great time, both my 4 and 11 year old were entertained and engaged. There are lots of interactive exhibits, fun for kids and grownups together. Everything is well laid out from the displays to car park and play areas. Lots of places to sit and take a rest, indoors and outside. We took a picnic but also enjoyed tea and cake from the restaurant whilst kids played. Will definitely be back again soon.
This is a great museum, lots of interactive things to engage young minds and a very good play area . Of particular note are the 4D Red Arrows experience for £5, and you can currently take the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a Spitfire for a mere £3 per person ( check the website as this is for the summer only ) Entrance is free but you pay for parking as you leave. Take your own packed lunch to save a few pounds . My children had a blast and I was chuffed to have sat in the cockpit of the most iconic aircraft ever.....
