Following an extensive refurbishment this historic 14th century public house is due to open in late May. The City Barge will be the perfect Thames side pub featuring a stunning dining room and bar, large open kitchen, all overlooking the river. The interior will retain much of the original architectural detail and period fixtures and fittings as well as three open fires. The menu will focus on seasonal British ingredients as well as hand pulled local ales and ciders. The City Barge will be open daily from midday for lunch and from 10am at weekends for breakfast and brunch. Before you visit London, use our trip planner to discover what you can do and see there.

Went there for lunch on a sunny Sunday in February. A few quite tables in the sun by the river. Inside, it’s a pretty big pub, quite busy and not very quite. Friendly atmosphere. Waiters were honest about the anticipated 40min wait and the food arrived just on time. Not an very large offer of beers. Good pork roast - not the classical pork belly but still quite tender. Would recommend.

I just love the city barge, in any hour of the day or any day of the year, any season or any weather condition. So many great memories here. Great bar food, good beers and wine selection Location right on the river.
