  • Although many of his rooms were closed, those I found open hosted exhibitions that sincerely left me indifferent but it may be because I didn't understand that kind of art. The single visit to the group of buildings is reason enough to access the enclosure.

  • The Bar at the Follies Bergere and La Loge two of my favourite paintings. I could stand and stare at them for hours.  more »

  • The Courtauld Gallery is an art museum in Somerset House, on the Strand in central London. It houses the art collection of the Courtauld Institute of Art, a self-governing college of the University of London specialising in the study of the history of art. The Courtauld collection was formed largely through donations and bequests and includes paintings, drawings, sculptures and other works from medieval to modern times; it is particularly known for its French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. In total, the collection contains some 530 paintings and over 26,000 drawings and prints. The Head of the Courtauld Gallery is Ernst Vegelin. The gallery closed on 3rd September 2018 for at least two years during a major redevelopment called Courtauld Connects.
  • Wonderful pocket museum with a fantastic collection and nary a crowd. While the National Portrait Gallery nearby is besieged by tourists with lines around the block, enjoy this nearby gem with a small but we'll curated collection of impressionist and post impressionist works while being nearly alone in room after room. You will feel sooooo superior to everyone else for having discovered this rare gem.
