In 1998, Trinity Buoy Wharf was an empty, derelict site. Now it is a thriving centre for the arts and creative industries with a rare community of over 350 like minded people enjoying the unique riverside location.
Free from overdevelopment, the site's fasinating history can still be seen in the buildings, installations and residents such as the Lightships LV93 and LV95 that are moored here.
With careful regeneration, Trinity Buoy Wharf has kept its character whilst offering amenities such as studio and gallery space, a pier, boat club, school, rehearsal rooms and two dining options in the form of Driftwood Cafe and Fat Boys all American diner and 3 of the hugely sustainable Container City buildings.
Trinity Buoy Wharf Reviews
Trinity Buoy Wharf is the site of London's only lighthouse, which incidentally doesn't work anymore. Now the site is a exhibition, art studio and office complex made from recycled sea shipping contain... more »
這個地方應該是... more »Trinity Buoy Wharf - the only tower in London, has now been deactivated. Here is now the first studio in London, container studio / creative quarter. Inside (or an open-end?!) Some of the devices and exhibitions, but I didn't see the show on the day, probably because of the day and the no living. There's nothing really cool here, it's a little cold, but I've had it. This place is only a place to come, because the geographical location is a bit of a barrier, ordinary visitors will not come specially. Unless you're interested in the history and history here, don't you think it's good. Or it's better to have a better day and a little bit more active, and the photo shoot will be better than it is.
Trinity Buoy is a little off the beaten track but well worth a visit! This wharf has London’s only lighthouse and historically was the base for the storage and maintenance of buoys used on the Thames, hence the name! The area was almost completely derelict as recently as 1998, but has been repurposed as a creative hub! This vibrant area includes sculpture, artists' studios, gallery spaces, rehearsal rooms, event spaces, cafes and a diner. We love this place and especially the buildings constructed from shipping containers!
Quite an interesting place, from the lighthouse with the Long Player Himalayan bowls, humming their way through 1000 years, to the tiny Faraday museum-in-a-shed, the container architecture and the metal sculptures dotted around. On this wonderfully hot bank holiday Sunday, it was a peaceful hidden corner of London. Well worth a stop and a wander (a café and a diner are refuelling options).
