Victoria and Albert Museum, London

4.7
At Victoria and Albert Museum, see the world's largest decorative arts and design collection. The museum's 145 galleries span 51,000 sq m (12.5 acres), so you won't be able to see it all in a single visit. Look over a floor plan and decide which rooms interest you the most. You have 5,000 years worth of art to choose from, including ceramics, glass, textiles, ironwork, sculptures, furniture, photographs, and more, from all parts of the world. At 80,000 objects, the ceramics collection is the world's largest and features pieces by famous potters such as William De Morgan and Bernard Leach. In the British galleries, keep an eye out for Henry VIII's writing desk, which dates to 1525. The jewelry collection includes an emerald necklace that Napoleon gave to his adopted daughter, Hortense de Beauharnais, in 1806. • A super nice museum and breathtaking beauty. Strange and confusing collections, but one that allows you to discover the most beautiful civilizations in one place. Another good point the coffee inside offers great salad and sandwich. I also recommend the scones...

  • I did not expect the number of reproductions that the museum houses: the David de Michelangelo, the Donatello, the Column of Trajan... I loved it.

  • As usual an amazing visit. So many things to see and enjoy. The variety of countries, craftsmanship and talent is always mind-blowing and so artistically influencing. Great inspiration for any kind of art you would do. Had a coffee and cake in the most beautiful room with live pianist. Will have to book for a proper afternoon tea next time.
  • I’ve seen a temporary exhibition. Really happy with the time efficiency in terms of ticket purchases. When you arrive to V&A you can use the machines to buy it very easily. The staff is very helpful and informative, can guide the way where to go to see the specific exhibition. Also staff members in the exhibition were very quick with admission and support. On the other note, really enjoyed the exhibition itself. Incredible experience. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone
