Must see · Geologic Formation · Landmark
The first place in the United Kingdom to be designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty," Gower Peninsula is adorned with no less than six castles: Penrice, Oystermouth, Oxwich, Pennard, Weobley, and Bovehill Castles. The condition of the castles varies from intact to ruinous, but each is remarkable to explore and located near the sea. The award-winning bays and beaches offer pristine sands and cliffs. Remains of Bronze Age people who inhabited the region have been found in local caves. Visit Tooth Hole Cave, the sacred place where the ancient people layed their dead. Check the weather before traveling to the peninsula. By using our Swansea trip planner, you can arrange your visit to Gower Peninsula and other attractions in Swansea.
