Wingham Wildlife Park, Wingham

4.3
#1 of 6 in Zoos & Aquariums in Kent
First opened in 1986 as a bird park, Wingham Wildlife Park expanded into a wildlife park containing over 200 species, including a number of endangered species. Spanning an area of 10.5 hectares (26 acres), the zoo divides into several key areas. The tropical house features tropical plants, fish ponds, and free-roaming tropical birds. The reptile house contains 46 species of reptiles, including dwarf crocodiles and rhinoceros iguanas. The mandrill island houses a troop of colorful mandrills. Refer to the timetable to find talks and feeding exhibitions, and be sure to try to include the red panda talk and tiger feeding in your schedule. The soft indoor play area acts as a change of scenery for kids when they need a break from the animals. • A great day out for the family. Facilities are excellent and the park is in good condition. Particularly enjoyed the Himalayan animals area - this is new and no doubt will be developed more. All staff we came in contact with were pleasant and friendly. Do be prepared for a bit of a wait at the cafe however, as this does get very busy and there’s often a long line. V easy parking. Recommend.
  • Great place for the family. Lots of benches for the family to sit down or for picnics. Generally a really clean with lots of bins around. The animals were great and got to see all but 2. My 3 year old boy loved the dinosaurs. The children loved the big play area to which we were able to sit down, feed our baby whilst watching our kids burn some energy. All in all a great family day out.
