Cambridgeshire travel guide
More than just a picturesque setting for ancient colleges, Cambridgeshire contains the country’s most fertile farmland and a scenic countryside intersected by canals and dotted with windmills. Though the region’s chief attraction remains the splendid architecture of the historic university city of Cambridge, visitors should not fall into the trap of assuming that seeing old buildings equals seeing all of modern Cambridgeshire. Extend your itinerary beyond the walls of the ancient city and you'll find a region of small towns and friendly little villages, known for a particularly fine range of country pubs that serve an impressive variety of local ales and beers.
