Scarborough — 1 night

Scarborough is a town on the North Sea coast of North Yorkshire, England. Start off your visit on the 4th (Mon): enjoy the sand and surf at Filey Beach, then walk around Peasholm Park, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Scarborough Beach. On the 5th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: look for all kinds of wild species at RSPB Bempton Cliffs and then enjoy the sand and surf at Sandsend Beach.

Wareham is an historic market town and, under the name Wareham Town, a civil parish, in the English county of Dorset. Kick off your visit on the 9th (Sat): explore the striking landscape at Lulworth Cove, look for all kinds of wild species at Monkey World, and then brush up on your military savvy at The Tank Museum. Keep things going the next day: make a splash at Dorset Adventure Park and then identify plant and animal life at Durlston Country Park.

Aviemore is a town and tourist resort, situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. Explore hidden gems such as Rothiemurchus and River Rafting & Tubing. Step out of the city life by going to Loch Morlich and Cairngorm Reindeer Centre. On the 12th (Tue), dedicate a day to the elevated beauty of Cairngorm Mountain. There's still lots to do: walk around RZSS Highland Wildlife Park and contemplate the waterfront views at Loch an Eilein.

You can do a combination of flight and train from Wareham to Aviemore in 6.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a train. When traveling from Wareham in July, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Aviemore: temperatures range from 22°C by day to 11°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Isle of Skye.

Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Aviemore in July: highs in Isle of Skye hover around 19°C, while lows dip to 12°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) so you can go by car to Fort William.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Take a break from the city and head to Glen Coe and Highland Titles Nature Reserve. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at River Rafting & Tubing and Glencoe Lochan. On the 17th (Sun), dedicate a day to the elevated beauty of Ben Nevis.
