This museum is well worth a visit, chronicling the history of Colchester from the Iron Age to the end of the Roman occupation. It is quite small but still very interesting.

Amazing historic building, set in some lovely grounds in the centre of Colchester. Admission charged for the castle itself and I didn't have sufficient time to justify, so I'd suggest allowing at least a couple of hours to do the interior and surroundings justice.

A lovely place to go with kids and adults alike. Interactive and wall thought and laid out. The grounds are beautiful and well manicured. Easy to find and access. Lots of school kids using the park as places to sit during their lunch break but all well behaved and could happily sit along side them. Quite a few benches too. Definitely worth a trip here
