Colchester Zoo reviews
One of the best zoos in Europe. Had a good day out. Animals are well cared for and facilities are well maintained. Red pandas are great.

Even from booking the experience, the team at Colchester Zoo have been phenomenal! Abi at the experience reception booked our day for us (back in July 2021), she even rang me directly to do this...

A great place, especially on a sunny day. (visited 23/3/22). Lots of staff around to help, plenty off toilets and good accessibility for wheelchairs/prams (albeit hilly) A wide range of animals and enclosures to see. The animals seem well-cared for and looked after. Good layout and several fantastic play grounds. Lots of toilets which are accessible. Not all food outlets were open, and are reasonably expensive, taking a packed lunch and drinks is a much cheaper option - especially for a family. If you have a young one, the soft play is great... Sessions are 45 minutes, bookable and free online. Book ahead on the website. If you are in a situation where you are likely to visit more than once a year, get the passes: £69 pp and gives you other discounts. Good value. Overall, a terrific place which the kids (3 year old) loves.
I am a member of Chester zoo so had a free visit. I've been too many zoo across the country and this is the definitely the next best after Chester. Colchester is not as big but is definitely more interactive with its customers and was well set out. Plenty of animals to view and plenty of eating spaces and play areas for the kids. Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone. And we will definitely return next time we are in the area 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
