Simulating life 100 years ago, Ulster Folk Museum gives visitors a historical Irish cultural experience. The folk section dedicates 69 hectares (170 acres) to a selection of old Irish buildings and dwellings, collected from all over the country and rebuilt brick by brick. Stroll through Ballycultra, a recreated Ulster village, as you chat with costumed guides. The transport section houses an extensive collection of horse-drawn carriages, electric trams, motorbikes, fire engines, and vintage cars, telling the story of transportation in Ireland. The Irish Railway Collection features 150 years of railway history. The museum houses a permanent Titanic exhibition documenting the construction, voyage, and sinking of the vessel. A visit to Ulster Folk Museum represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Holywood trip planner to plot your vacation.

  • Good museum but cafe service was a disaster. There didn’t seem to be system or anyone in charge and our order was mixed up repeatedly.

  • Well worth a visit. Great way to spend an hour or so with the kids. They loved it. Lovely staff and spotless. Nice cafe and you should definitely pop into the sweet shop.
  • Great day out stepping back to 1910, loads of interesting stuff to keep all ages occupied. Fantastic cafe decent prices and plenty to choose from. One thing I will say is to wear comfy footwear cause there's loads of walking to do.
