Set in a stunning river location, Lichfield Cathedral is the only medieval English cathedral with three spires. For information and navigation, take a free guide on arrival--"Pilgrim Guide" for adults, "Angel Trail" for young children, and "Saints, Swords, and Saxons" for older children. The cathedral features fine examples of medieval stained-glass windows from the 1530s. The restaurant and coffee shop sits in the idyllic 13th-century walled garden, selling locally sourced and freshly prepared dishes. If you want to use your camera, you need a permit, which you can purchase on arrival. The cathedral is wheelchair accessible, with chairs available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. • If you like wandering around English cathedrals, this one is pretty good. The interior is much as you'd expect. The welcome was friendly, and they didn't charge a fee, merely asked if we'd like to...

  • I'm not religious but do love a good church or cathedral with all the history. Lichfield is a lovely cathedral and well worth a visit. It's free to go in but a donation is appreciated. Lichfield itself is a nice town too.
  • Absolutely stunning cathedral. We took an American visitor for a tour and it was much appreciated. Sadly, we timed our arrival to coincide with a service so we had to rush our visit a bit to get round, but we will be back! Lots to see here and hoping to join one of the tours they run next time to find out more.
