An ornately decorated, imposing Gothic exterior conceals the equally impressive and elaborate interior of the medieval Lincoln Cathedral. Construction was believed to have been first begun in 1185 on this 143.3 m (470 ft) tall structure. The cathedral towers over the city of Lincoln with its carved ramparts, intricate arches and windows, and Baroque statues. Entrance is free if you attend one of the weekly services, and you can check the cathedral's website for a schedule if you'd like to attend one of the regular music performances. With our custom trip planner, Lincoln attractions like Lincoln Cathedral can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Well worth visiting. Nigel our guide was very informative with good humour. Really lovely stained glass. Nice shop and cafe. Will return for the roof tour, ticket allows re-entry for a year. Take a walk around the outside, really spectacular.

A fantastic guided tour which happened by coincidence to be on Armistice day. We sat in the congregation for the service and were blown away by Nimrod played by the organist. A very moving service and a fascinating tour of the cathedral. I would strongly recommend taking the guided tour (at no additional cost) to truly appreciate the history of this wonderful building.
