Create an itinerary including St. Davids Cathedral
St. Davids Cathedral (Welsh: Eglwys Gadeiriol Tyddewi) is situated in St Davids in the county of Pembrokeshire, on the most westerly point of Wales. It was the first cathedral choir in the UK comprised of girls and men, rather than boys and men. Check the schedule for weekly evensong. If you are visiting in summer, don't miss the cathedral festival which showcases some of the world’s best performers. Check out the Treasury Collection and the 10 bells housed in the old gatehouse, the heaviest of which weighs 24 kg (53 lbs). Grab a coffee at The Refectory and browse the bookshop and gift shop. As regular guided tours are only conducted during the summer, make contact prior to arrange tours at other times. In order to take photos, purchase your photography permit from the bookshop for a small fee. A donation is welcomed on entry. • A must see on visiting St David’s. The bishops palace was closed on our visit, which was a shame. The cathedral is magnificent.

  • Probably guessing you are in St David’s for the Cathedral but if not it’s worth a visit anyway. No entrance fee but suggest a donation of £5, worth it even if there is one of you. Toilets and a refectory are on site. Winding road or a fairly steep staircase provides access. Gift shop holds a lot of nice bits. Stream and a ford will keep the kids entertained. Palace next door is worth a visiting at the same time.
  • A very magical place indeed. There was some very very talented people all those years ago when this place was built. The detail in the woodwork & masonry is incredible, even if you are in no way religious you will be blown away by St Davids Cathedral. Access is very good, parking is relatively close, a bit of a steep walk up from the car park but not too bad really. There is a good canteen inside along with toilets and the usual gift shop. Well worth a visit.
